Shoes and Socks

  • Simple two-tone options in these color combinations will be acceptable. For example, a white or black soled shoe with an upper portion of a solid color, but no patterns, stripes, checker board, plaid, floral, etc.. If in doubt, choose solid colors listed.
  • Mary Jane, ballet flats, boat shoes, tennis or athletic shoe styles are acceptable.
  • Unacceptable uniform shoes include moccasins, boots, high heels, flip flops, Croc-style shoes, slides, skate shoes, house slippers, and high-top shoes.
  • For safety reasons, shoes must have a back or back strap. If you are unsure, type “school uniform shoes” into an online search engine to view examples of appropriate options, however this description is very clear.

Middle School & High School P.E. Uniforms

  • All middle school and high school students enrolled in PE classes are required to wear official FCA/FCHS PE uniform items to all PE classes.
  • Tee shirts, shorts, pants, and ball caps with the FCA logo are available for purchase. These items should be worn for PE classes and afternoon sports, but are NOT authorized for wear with the daily school uniform.
  • Athletic shoes and socks must follow the FCA dress code and are required for participation in middle school and high school physical education classes.
  • PE shorts must be no shorter than fingertip length. Failure to comply with PE uniform standards will result in a lowered grade.

Preschool Attire

  • Uniform is optional.
  • Preschool students should dress comfortably in clothing that is appropriate for activities such as painting, activity circles, and outdoor play.
  • Shoes are required to have a back. Closed toe shoes are strongly recommended.
  • Preschool students should dress casually, comfortably and in a manner consistent with Christian principles.
  • Please discourage children from dressing in a “pop-style fashion”. We want children to look like children.

  • During cold weather students may wear a plain white, gray, or navy long sleeved shirt beneath an approved uniform shirt with the FCA logo.
  • All official FCA logo items (long sleeved polos, fleece, and sweatshirts) are acceptable.

  • NO OTHER colors of coats or jackets may be worn during the school day.

Free Dress Days

  • Students are expected to choose appropriate clothing on free dress days. Remember, appropriate dress is interpreted by the Principal. (Please refer to the Dress Code/Appearance section in the handbook for items deemed inappropriate.)
  • Elementary free dress days include the last day before Christmas break, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and student’s birthday, unless the day falls on Chapel Day (in which the student should revert to the Friday following the birthday) or a field trip (in which the student should revert to the following Friday).
  • Other days will be given at the Principal’s discretion.
  • Middle and high school students do not follow the elementary free dress schedule. Unless otherwise approved an FCA/FCHS school uniform is required at all times on campus.
